## How to use it

Match the scenario, fill in the brackets, practice out loud until it runs 15-20 seconds, and always say your phone number twice, slowly, at the end.

## What's inside

- The voicemail formula: name + company, one reason, callback hook, number said twice
- First-touch voicemail script (no prior contact)
- After-email voicemail script (references the email sent)
- Referral voicemail script
- Trigger-event voicemail script
- Break-up voicemail script (final touch)
- Post-no-show voicemail script (missed booked call)
- Rules for callback-worthy voicemails: 15-20 second length, number said twice slowly

Short, curiosity-driven voicemail scripts built to survive past second 3, the point where most cold voicemails get deleted. Every script here is under 20 seconds read aloud and ends on a reason to call back, not a recap of your entire pitch.

**How to use this:** Match the scenario, fill in the brackets, and practice saying it out loud until it takes 15-20 seconds, not 45. Record yourself once and listen back; if it sounds like you're reading, re-record until it doesn't.

## The Voicemail Formula (Every Script Below Follows This)

1. **Name + company** (2 seconds: say it fast, don't over-enunciate like a robot)
2. **One specific reason for calling** (the pain, the trigger event, or the reference point, never generic)
3. **One reason to call back that isn't "learn more about our product"**
4. **Your number, said twice, slowly** (the #1 reason callbacks don't happen is a number said once, fast)

## Scenario 1: First-Touch Voicemail (No Prior Contact)

> "Hi [Name], it's [Your Name] from [Company]. I'll keep this quick: I work with [role/title] dealing with [specific pain point], and wanted to see if that's something on your plate right now. My number's [number], that's [number] again. Thanks, [Name]."

## Scenario 2: After-Email Voicemail (Reference the Email)

> "Hi [Name], [Your Name] again from [Company]: I sent an email a couple days ago about [specific topic], figured I'd follow up by phone in case it's easier to just talk it through. Give me a call at [number]: [number] again: or feel free to just reply to the email, whichever's easier."

## Scenario 3: Referral Voicemail

> "Hi [Name], this is [Your Name] from [Company], [Referrer Name] suggested I reach out given what you're working on with [specific context]. Would love five minutes whenever works. My number's [number], one more time that's [number]. Thanks."

## Scenario 4: Trigger-Event Voicemail

> "Hi [Name], [Your Name] from [Company]. Saw [trigger event: the raise, the new role, the expansion], congrats. That's usually the point where [specific pain] either gets ahead of the business or falls behind it, so wanted to check which one it's looking like for you. Number's [number], again [number]."

## Scenario 5: Break-Up Voicemail (Final Touch)

> "Hi [Name], [Your Name] from [Company] one last time. I've reached out a few times about [specific topic] and don't want to keep cluttering your voicemail, so this'll be my last call. If it's ever relevant, my number's [number], [number] again. Either way, all the best."

## Scenario 6: Post-No-Show Voicemail (They Missed a Booked Call)

> "Hi [Name], [Your Name] from [Company]: looks like we missed each other for our [time] call, no worries at all, these things happen. Wanted to see if it's worth grabbing a new time, or if something's come up that's changed priorities. Number's [number], again [number]."

## Rules for Voicemails That Get Callbacks

- **Timing: 15–20 seconds, never over 30.** Anything longer gets skipped or deleted before the number is even heard.
- **Say the phone number twice, slowly, at normal volume**, not faster than the rest of the message. This is the single most common reason a genuinely interested prospect never calls back.
- **Name a specific pain or trigger, never "touching base" or "following up."** Both phrases are auto-delete triggers for most professionals.
- **Don't recap the whole pitch.** The voicemail's only job is to earn a callback or make the next email/call feel expected, not to close anything.
- **Match voicemail to the cadence touch it supports**: a first-touch voicemail should feel different from a break-up voicemail; if every voicemail sounds the same, prospects tune out by the second one.
- **Leave voicemails inconsistently, not on every single call attempt**: if a prospect gets 6 identical voicemails across 6 calls, it reads as automation. Skip a voicemail on 1 in 3 attempts.
