# Multi-Threading Stakeholder Map Template

> A single-page map of every buyer, influencer, blocker and champion in the account, so you can see single-threaded exposure before the deal reaches legal, not after it stalls there.

Free template for sales reps. Topic: [Pipeline, Deal Management & Forecasting](https://www.peerlab.ai/library/topic/pipeline-deal-management-forecasting/). Published by PeerLab in the [Sales Enablement Resource Library](https://www.peerlab.ai/library/). Source: https://www.peerlab.ai/library/multi-threading-stakeholder-map-template/

## How to use it

Fill in the stakeholder inventory after every meeting or org-chart discovery, plot everyone onto the Influence vs. Support grid, and re-run the risk flags and coalition score before each forecast call to catch single-threading before it stalls the deal in legal.

## What's inside

- Stakeholder inventory table (name, title, department, role, champion status, last/next contact)
- 5-role classification system: Economic Buyer, Champion, Influencer, User, Blocker/Detractor, Procurement/Legal
- Influence vs. Support 2x2 grid with reading guide
- Single-thread risk flag list (escalate at 2+ checked)
- Coalition strength score out of 10
- Blocker/detractor neutralization plan table
- Multi-thread action plan for the next 2 weeks
- Org chart sketch area
- Re-scoring cadence tied to stage changes and forecast calls

Fill this out for every deal above your average deal size threshold, and refresh it every time you have a new meeting or a stakeholder change. One map per opportunity.

## 1. Stakeholder Inventory

| Name | Title | Department | Role (see classification below) | Champion? Y/N | Last contact | Next planned touch |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | |

## 2. Role Classification (assign one to each stakeholder above)

- **EB: Economic Buyer**: controls/releases budget, can say yes when everyone else says maybe
- **CH: Champion**: actively sells internally on your behalf when you're not in the room
- **IN: Influencer**: technical or functional voice whose opinion moves the EB
- **US: User**: will use the product day-to-day; low power, but their complaints can kill a deal
- **BL: Blocker/Detractor**: actively prefers status quo, a competitor, or has no reason to change
- **PR: Procurement/Legal**: process gatekeeper, not a buying-motivation stakeholder

## 3. Influence vs. Support Grid

Plot every stakeholder from Section 1 onto this grid (draw or use initials):

```
High Influence | COACH THEM | CHAMPION: PROTECT
 | (convert to | (arm them with
 | champion) | ammo, don't over-email)
 |--------------------|--------------------
Low Influence | IGNORE FOR NOW | KEEP WARM
 | (low priority) | (nice-to-have ally)
 +--------------------+--------------------
 Low Support High Support
```

**Read the grid**: anything in the top-left (high influence, low/unknown support) is your single-threading risk, you have power in the room that isn't yet on your side.

## 4. Single-Thread Risk Flag

Check any that are true. **2 or more checked = escalate to manager this week.**

- [ ] Only 1 stakeholder has ever taken a call with us
- [ ] No stakeholder above Director/VP level has been directly engaged
- [ ] Champion has never introduced us to their manager or a peer
- [ ] We cannot name who signs off in procurement/legal
- [ ] Our only contact has gone dark (no response) for 7+ days
- [ ] We have never spoken to anyone who will actually use the product day-to-day
- [ ] Deal amount is above [$______ threshold] and fewer than 3 stakeholders are mapped

## 5. Coalition Strength Score

Score 0-2 for each, sum out of 10:

| Question | Score (0=no, 1=partial, 2=yes) |
|---|---|
| Do we have a named Economic Buyer contact? | |
| Do we have at least one Champion actively selling for us? | |
| Have we neutralized or converted the primary Blocker? | |
| Have we engaged procurement/legal proactively (not reactively)? | |
| Have we talked to an actual end user? | |
| **Total (out of 10)** | |

0-4 = high risk, single-threaded. 5-7 = building. 8-10 = well-threaded, low risk.

## 6. Blocker/Detractor Neutralization Plan

| Blocker name | Their real objection | Who can influence them | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| | | | |

## 7. Multi-Thread Action Plan (next 2 weeks)

| Stakeholder to add/deepen | Action | Owner | By when |
|---|---|---|---|
| | | | |
| | | | |
| | | | |

## 8. Org Chart Sketch

Draw the reporting lines you know (box-and-line, freehand is fine), this reveals who reports to whom and where the real influence sits.

```
[Economic Buyer]
 |
 ----+----
 | |
[Champion] [Influencer]
 |
[User] [User]
```

## Cadence

Re-score Sections 4 and 5 every time the deal stage changes, and before every internal forecast call. A coalition score that hasn't moved in 3 weeks is itself a warning sign.
