# Customer Proof-Point Weave-In Template

> A plug-in template mapping the exact moments skepticism peaks in a demo to the customer proof: logos, quotes, metrics: that neutralizes it, with word-for-word insertion scripts.

Free template for sales reps. Topic: [Demos & Product Storytelling](https://www.peerlab.ai/library/topic/demos-product-storytelling/). ## How to use it

Fill in Part 2 once with your own team's real customer proof points, then use Part 1 to spot the trigger moment live and Part 3 to deliver the matching script word-for-word.

## What's inside

- Skepticism trigger-moment map (7 common moments and what's behind them)
- Proof-point bank template fields (customer, metric, quote, format, best-fit moment)
- Rule for what counts as a real proof point vs. filler
- 7 word-for-word insertion scripts mapped to trigger moments
- Rule-of-thumb on proof point density per demo

A plug-in template for inserting real customer proof at the exact moment skepticism peaks, not tacked onto a "customers" slide at the end.

## Part 1, Skepticism Trigger-Moment Map

These are the points in a typical demo where prospects mentally object even if they don't say it out loud. Know which ones apply to your demo and pre-load proof for each.

| Trigger moment | What's going through their head | Proof needed |
|---|---|---|
| Right after a big automation/time-saving claim | "Sure, in theory" | A metric from a similar company: hours/days saved |
| Right after showing pricing-relevant ROI math | "Their math, not mine" | A third-party-verifiable customer number, not your own estimate |
| When asked "how is this different from [competitor]?" | "Feels like a sales answer" | A customer who evaluated both and picked you, with the specific reason |
| After showing an integration/compatibility claim | "Will this actually work with our mess of a stack?" | A customer with a similar/messier stack who got it working, and how long it took |
| After showing a reporting/analytics feature | "Vanity metric or does leadership actually use this?" | A quote from someone in a leadership role citing the specific report they rely on |
| When a security/compliance question is raised | "Are they going to dodge this?" | A named customer in a regulated industry (if permitted) or a specific cert/audit reference |
| Right before you ask for the next step | "Do people like me actually buy this?" | A logo/customer in their exact segment and size band |

## Part 2, Proof-Point Bank (fill one row per proof point you have available)

| Customer (name or anonymized descriptor) | Industry | Company size | Similarity to this prospect | Problem they had (mirror language) | Metric/result (quantified) | Verbatim quote | Format available | Best-fit trigger moment(s) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| | | | | | | | Case study / video / logo slide / reference call | |
| | | | | | | | | |
| | | | | | | | | |

**Rule:** a proof point only goes in this bank if it has a real quantified metric or a verbatim quote, "customers love it" is not a proof point.

## Part 3: Insertion Scripts (word-for-word transitions, mapped to trigger moments)

**After an automation/time-saving claim:**
> "And this isn't theoretical: [Customer], who's about your size, went from [before metric] to [after metric] doing exactly this. [Role]'s own words were: '[quote]'."

**After pricing/ROI math:**
> "I know that math is coming from me, so here's the same number from someone who isn't selling it to you, [Customer] measured this themselves and landed at [their actual number]."

**When asked how you're different from a named competitor:**
> "Good question, [Customer] actually evaluated both of us before choosing. What tipped it for them was [specific, honest reason], not something I'd have guessed either."

**After an integration claim:**
> "To be fair, most stacks aren't clean: [Customer] had [specific messy detail similar to prospect's], and it took [realistic timeframe], not the fantasy version."

**After a reporting/analytics feature:**
> "This report specifically is the one [Role] at [Customer] pulls up in their [leadership meeting type] every week, not a report that gets built and ignored."

**On a security/compliance question:**
> "[Customer], who operates under [relevant regulation], went through exactly this review: happy to connect you with the same documentation they used, or their team directly if useful."

**Right before asking for the next step:**
> "You're in good company on this one: [Customer], same size, same industry, went through this exact evaluation about [timeframe] ago."

## Rule of Thumb

Never use more than 2–3 proof points in a single demo: stacking them back-to-back reads as a highlight reel, not evidence. Pick the ones that map to the specific skepticism you're actually feeling in the room, not the ones you like best.
